I was having a difficult time in creating a dam\pond so I came up with the following:
Paint the base coat a grass green
While still wet add yellow, leave a small green edge.
Next add a light brown, blend the edges well.
Next add a darker brown, blend the edges again.
Next add a little black to the center and blend in well.
Finally put a layer of gloss varnish over. The final product should look like this, I just chose to go lighter in the center again.
Next week I will give a quick update on my layout progress. Dairy\Citrus farm almost complete.
Cheers

Citrus and Dairy Farm
The following photos will show you the start of my citrus\dairy farm.
Here we started off creating the farm house.
Here is the complete house, we will be filling up the gaps, sanding and painting next.
Here the house is placed on my layout.
I have added the grass terrace for the house to stand on just for a bit of height variation.
You can see my next project in the background, it is a barn and it is one of three farm outbuildings that I am working on to complete this farm.
All buildings created using Linka moulds obtained locally from Dream Trains www.dreamtrains.co.za/ Feel free to comment on anything.
Cheers
